Following the end of the WWII and the release for the final PoWs the camp was retained by the military and saw active usage during the Cold War becoming the site of a Nuclear Bunker. The military retained control of the camp into the 1990 the result of which may of the buildings and Nissen Huts have survived.

The site closed in the 1990’s as a military site and the site was with the help of a former PoW was bought by the local community. Tis site contains several small businesses run through and with the help of Cultybraggan Camp Development Trust who also run the site as Museum.

In taking my photos I have also been seeking possible locations in which to hold a photo exhibition to display my work at the end of the course. In looking to Exhibit I want to show my work at  one of the PoW Sites. Cultybraggan being some 400 miles from my home presents logistics issues but it would mean that I can display my images in Nissen Huts. This contrasts with say the Hays which is close to home and is a modern conference centre but has been cleared of its WWII PreFab buildings.
