Island Farm is perhaps one of the more famous of the PoW Camps in the UK in that it was the site of a large PoW Escape.

Today, the Hut associated with the escape attempt has been preserved and surrounded with a modern secure fence – this time to keep people out! Having said that I made repeated attempts to contact the preservation group that run the site in order to gain access, but with no success. Owing to this my images have been shot from outside the fence and by flying my drone around the site’s perimeter being careful not to cross the fence for fear of not being able to retrieve it.
