In trying to locate this site I called at Ashford Lodge itself and asked for permission to take a number of photographs.
The owners where able to tell me that the PoW Camp itself was not at the Lodge but was a few hundred meters to the south in a field and woods the camp having been cleared a few years ago. The Lodge owners pointed me to a local history web article on the camp that included a map of the site and though it I was able to identify the actual location. This was the Field and the edge of the existing planted woodlands directly South of the Lodge.
This site was also known as Golden Meadow and some point. However, now days it it is mainly woodland and a field with crops. No trace was found as to the remains of the camp in the woods, or field. Likewise, latter examination of the drone images failed to find any signs of the camp.
