PoW Camp 407 Usselby Camp

The site of former PoW Camp 407 Usselby Camp exists today as several former hut bases and concrete along with the semi-derelict remains of a standard small building. Today the site is one of peaceful contemplation as a small Day Fishing location called Park Fisheries alongside the A46 in North Lincolnshire

The former PoW Camp 407 Usselby Camp runs alongside the A46 from Usselby Hall to a Poultry farm to the south and appears to have been a long thin camp with most of the site now lost to trees alongside the road. However, the Northern end of the camp has survived and is now a part of The Park Fisheries with a single surviving semi derelict building along with a number of hut bases.

The surviving building proves a backdrop for a quite calm relaxed day fishing business with a number of hut bases acting as car parking.

One fact of interest is that this camp may have been larger than it originally appears and or may have been associated with another site to the imadeate south with what appears to be the remains of one or more military buildings within what is now Osgodby Plantation.
