Many of the former PoW sites have now gone and have been subject to redevelopment. In some cases, this has resulted in new houses being built. In other cases, rather than a new house being built on a site the original wartime prefabs were renovated and or replaced. These changes over the years have resulted in new housing estates, new holiday parks and a few sites that combine both commercial and residential buildings.
Residential here is defined as people living and sleeping in a building within the former camp boundaries be it a new building or a building used within the camp that has survived to modern times. The images below link to the various residential sites in a number of different forms:
