RAF Langar was a typical WWII aerodrome site comprising concrete runways, some standard brick buildings and extensive use of PreFab structure at dispersed locations for accommodation. One of the dispersed locations was used as a PoW Camp with a number of PoWs being employed on RAF bases from the end of the war.
In the past the airfield was known as one of the major AVRO services centres with hangers across the opposite side of the public entrance to the camp. Today the airfield is mainly used by a large Parachute Club.
I regret that my research to date has not positively identified the dispersed site used as the PoW Camp, thus the images shown here are the remains of the Technical Site and a revisit and reshoot will be carried out at a latter date once the location has been confirmed
