The majority of former PoW sites made extensive use of Prefabricated buildings in the form of metal Nissen and Romney Huts, Wooden Huts, and the more substantive Maycrete Huts. These were often used in conjunction with standardised brick structures. Some of these temporary buildings have survived, others have been replaced by more modern PreFab whilst utilising the foundations of the former.
