The location given by English Heritage for the sites of former PoW Camp 159, 163 and 244 is that of a field on a bend on the unclassified road between Butterwick and Weaverthorpe where it joins Green Land. However, the camp(s) are named as being at Boythorpe which is on the opposite side of Butterwick than the EH location.

I can only assume that as per other sites the EH location is incorrect?

Lacking any other data I simply took a series of photos with my camera and drone between the EH Location and Butterwick.

Subsequent research by Malcolm Sanders seems to have resolved this issue in that there were apparently two camps. The site I visited was the correct location for a tented camp as such there is nothing left of the past here and that in modern times the site is now once again productive farmland.
