Staunton Harold Hall was a hostel used to house PoWs from Camp 28 Knightthorpe (Garendon Park). These PoWs are reported as having stayed within the main house / hall. Today there are no traces of this aspects of the estate’s past.

The Hall following the end of the war became a nursing home, but it is now once again a family home. The grounds and park are open to the general public with a number of small businesses being located within the former stables with a large plant nursery close by
