Talgarth as can be seen by the date stone on the building was built at the turn of twenty century as an out town mental hospital / Lunatic Asylum
During WWII the hospital was used in whole or part as a PoW Hospital and it is believed to have provided mental health care for the PoWs.
As can be seen on my photos it was another Wet Welsh day when I visited this site. Furthermore, as can be seen in the photos of the site, the buildings are now derelict and are in a poor and dangerous condition and have subject to vandalism.
