Many of the main PoW Camps along with Hostels were in open countryside and or on farmland. On returned to the landowners, one or more of the following happened: (a) the buildings left behind were used by the farm, (b) buildings and foundations were removed in and ad hoc manner, (c) the site was cleared and return to nature or agriculture, (d) the farm was lost to more substantial redevelopment.
