The search for WWII PoW Camps in the British Landscape
PoW Camp 13 Shap Wells
The former PoW Camp 13 Shap Wells is a spectacular hotel built in almost a chateau style sitting within a secluded and spectacular valley in Cumbria.
In many ways I would say that this site is the Cumbrian answer to The Hays in Derbyshire, indeed at some point both sites have been Camp 13.
Unlike quite a few sites visited not only are the present owners aware of the sites past, but they celebrate it.
