A small number of the former PoW Camps have be preserved in part and operate as museums. Likewise, several sites include memorials and information boards as to the site’s military history. However, in a case of selective amnesia some sites were used by allied military for months with PoW usage for years and yet the PoWs are not mentioned. My personal view is that a simple marker in the form of a “Blue Plaque” or similar should be placed at each former site.
