For once the 2003 English Heritage PoW Camp Report has got the location of the camp correct!

On the ground the site has been cleared and built over with housing and a school as such there is no trace of the camp or any means to confirm the location.

Using Image eaw014978 ENGLAND (1948) from the England from Above website I was able to confirm the location of the camp. The image shows an old paper mill along with a large chimney that lines up with a specific point. I was able to find somewhere between the old mill and the probable site of the PoW Camp and after a few attempts I managed to line up my Drone with the Factory Building and Chimney to produce an image similar to eaw014978 ENGLAND.

Having confirmed the alignment between the original image and that shown on the Drone Control Unit I was able to conform the location of the former PoW Camp. This image is also the headline one for this former PoW Site. Having confirmed the camps location, I was table to take a few more remote drone images followed by Camera images in and around the site of the former PoW Camp.

This is one of the few sites where I have used the drone to confirm location and taken drone pics prior to taking photos with my DSLR Camera.
