Description

I visited this site and talked to the owner of Hall Farm which is according to the English Heritage 2003 Report the location of this former PoW Camp 564 Stretton Hall. I was informed that the hall was on the opposite side of the road in what is now woodland with a lawn or sorts to the rear the former hall it having been demolished post war.

I took several photographs, along what is now called Rectory Lane photographing the new and renovated buildings on the North Side of the Road. The Hall was located on the south side of the Rectory Lane and its grounds starched from the Church to the end of the public access alone the lane marked by a gateway. The site of the former hall was one continuous row of Private Keep Out Signs; but with no indication as to who owned the land. It was obvious though that the lawn at the end of the site and woods had been used and maintained and I would assume that the grounds of the old hall are now owned by someone living in one living in the large expensive houses on the North Side of the Road. Having photographed the site and housing from the ground I used my drone to take several oblique shots then a mapping run of the site.
